The Boy Born In The Tunnel
Part of a 1-hour Australian Story-styled documentary piece on a local East New Britain legend - John Lau, and his wife Dame Sandra Lau. John's family moved to Rabaul, PNG prior to WWII, and during the Japanese occupation of the island, were forced to work as POWs. Air raids were common place, so the local Chinese community dug tunnels (practically by hand) to shelter themselves from the continual barrage. One of these tunnels is the place John's mother gave birth to him, just over 80 years ago.
